Exploratory Branding To Connect Students With Nature

OBJECTIVE

The College of the Canyons' Outdoor Adventure Club is dedicated to fostering a connection between students and nature, promoting physical activity, and imparting essential outdoor safety and survival skills. They sought our assistance to generate enthusiasm for their mission and elevate their marketing efforts. To achieve this, we took their core mission and used strategic design methodology to maximize their overall impact. This involved the creation of a logo, branding materials, stickers, and a flyer to effectively communicate the club's mission and attract new members.

IMPACT

We created a strong and impactful icon for the Outdoor Adventure Club that embodies their mission and improves their marketability. The graphic element of the icon features a pinpoint in the center surrounded by a sunrise ring. Together each component creates the negative space for two mountains at the bottom. These elements are references to future destinations of the outdoors awaiting exploration and the club’s ultimate goal of connecting students to nature. We applied a sharp, all-caps sans serif typeface inspired by national park signage to further push the core mission of the club, emphasizing safety and survival skills. By utilizing strong geometric shapes, we ensure the logo’s adaptability across various platforms, allowing the logo to maintain its visual integrity no matter the size.
